You are the angel on top of our tree, I have your picture all over the tree. It will never be the same. I go shopping and see all these gifts you would love, but I can't buy them. I put up your spiderman stocking but can't fill it. I make cookies with your sister but it is not the same. You will always be in my heart and loved just as much as if you were here. We miss you like crazy and wish we could give you one more kiss. Daddy's birthday is tomorrow and I know he is thinking of you. He started singing a song that he always sang to you, realized what he was singing and stopped. Not a day goes by that we don't talk about you.

Two years ago at 12:50am you took your last breathe. I can picture that night like it was yesterday. I held you tight and told you I loved you. I asked you to make sure you visit us and gives us signs you are here. Ryan, I love you so much and miss you more than ever. Not to have you here to hold, kiss and hug is really hard. We always talk about you and are trying our hardest to cure this horrible disease that took your life. We will release balloons in the morning, I hope you are getting them. I love you so much. How things just work out and how I got what I wanted, not just luck, you were with me. I got a job that I really wanted, I will be working for a great family focused company, and I got to spend time with your sister over the summer. My luck is usually never that lucky, so thank you Ryan for looking out for me. As your sister starts kindergarten, I think of you starting 3rd grade and if you would be excited to go back. We talk with the kids on the block and some don't want summer to end.
Your sis has a best friend, they can't be seperated for one minute or they throw a temper tantrum. They eat dinner almost every night together, they will walk to school in the morning together. I am almost afraid when school starts how they are going to be not seeing each other for hours or when the cold weather starts.

Remembering you / Mommy
I have been cleaning up the e-mails and came across all the ones we sent out keeping everyone updated on your status. Wow, what a horrible thing that was to do. To remember all the challenging times you had. You sure did pull through them quickly --- you were such a strong child! Bella told me that she talks to you and you told her that you really miss us and you stay around us all the time. We REALLY miss you too and I am so happy you stay close to us. Daddy was watching a show and the father and son got to play football at the pro-football stadium. What a depressing show that was for him and then he went upstairs to your room and was going through your clothes(Of course your sister and her new friend decided to throw her clothes and yours into the hallway, so we were helping her clean it up) which made the night even worse. When we are ready we will go through your clothes and give them to your cousins, we will keep the special ones. Not sure when that day will come, but no hurry here, I love looking at your room just the way it is. We saw Dr. Stu, boy did he have nothing but good memories to share and Jim, your girlfriend Wendy, Mary, Gina and so many more. We did a toy drive at the hospital and they all said how much you would have enjoyed it. Wendy also thouht of you when she did the fathers day walk- the one you did the commerical for. You have left such an impact on all of their lives and probably more than we know of.

Your 8th birthday is coming up and it seems to be alot harder. Daddy is really having a hard time, he wishes he could take you to the Cubs game. He watches the kids play baseball and knows you would have been the best player on the field. It is really killing him when he sees all the dads playing catch with their sons.
We have a spiderman video that has your picture on spidey's body. It is an incrediable tribute to such an incrediable superhero. As we look back at your journey on this earth with us, we will always remember your strength, courage, thoughtfulness, and being the amazing child you embedded in our memory. I have flowers in the garden that look like spiders and Grandma Val said she has never seen them before. Well after 2 years at the camper they suddenly appeared. Thanks Ryan for giving them to her, that makes her happy knowing you are with her. She knows you would have really enjoyed being there.
Yesterday Alyssa told me that Mommy bought me new slippers for Fathers Day and it made me think of you. I remember I could never tell you what I bought for Mommy because you would tell her right away. I would always tell you we bought her coal so thats what you woluld tell her. I miss you all the time and especially on days like today. Fathers Day isn't the same with out you here. Love You Always Big Guy.
Your 8th birthday is coming up. It is hard to believe that your last birthday celebrated on earth with us was 2 years ago. I can remember it like it was yesterday. You welcomed your guests at the door and helped carry your birthday gifts in. I know all you really wanted to do was open them, sorry I made you wait so long. Tim's friend came over and you asked the mommy if she brought you a gift. You helped Anna carry in the presents and she had a gift for Alyssa and you told her you would make sure she got it cuz she is my little sister and I love her.
We are collecting toys to pass out to all the children at the hospital in memory of you. I know how much you loved getting toys, so for your birthday every year we will continue the Ryan Lamantia toy drive. Ryan I really miss you and the fun we all had together. You dancing and singing, kissing your sister, beating up your dad, giving me kisses and more kisses to get a reaction out of daddy, calling us names and most of all your hugs!
This year for your birthday, I will get a birthday cake, ice-cream and we will release a bunch of red balloons. I hope you can catch them all. July 4th will never be the same.

The last show we saw as a family together, was the fantastic 4. You feel asleep during the first half, but woke up in time to see all the action. Well they came out with part 2 and it looks pretty good. I hope soon daddy will take us to see it. I will think of you as we watch it. I still have your costume from one of the heros on it, can't think of his name right now. I love you very much and think of you all the time! Wish I could give you hugs and kisses.
Today I received a DVD spiderman cartoon of you. In this show you are spiderman, your beautiful face is on spiderman's body. It is the coolest thing i have ever seen, i know you would really appreciate it. Thank you, you gave me the best birthday gift ever! Love you so much
Another Mothers Day without you! / Mommy
Last year was really hard, I stayed in bed most of the day and cried. All I could think about was you sitting on my lap as I read the card you got me. You proudly put the sticker on me that said Best Mom in the World. I held you tightly and cried. All I could think was what if this is the last Mothers Day I get to hold you, hug you, kiss you, have you daddy and Alyssa cook me breakfast.
Ryan, you will always be close in my heart. Every holiday will be a challenge, every birthday won't be the same, every day without you is hard. I look in your room and wonder if you'd still be kicking your sister out. I wonder how handsome you'd be, how tall you'd be, what sports you'd be interested in, who would your friends be, how much closer can you and daddy get, and how close you and your sister would be. She loves you so much and was so excited to see Spiderman 3, I know she was thinking of you in there, just like I was.
I think of you when I see birds, butterflies, feathers and anything red. I love you so much and I am so sorry you had to go through what you did. You are so strong, such a fighter and I will keep your memory alive as long as I live.
