I hope you know how much you are missed.  Everyone that ever met you could only miss your winning personalty, your songs, your jokes, your kisses.  It is so hard to go on without you and I know you miss all of us.  You miss riding your motorcycle  and we miss running after you.  I miss the sweet sound of your voice.  The hugs and kisses and taking you anywhere you wanted to go, buying you anything you wanted.  That just made me happy to see you happy.  I  love my perfect grandson with all that I am. It's going to be one year since I held you on my lap.  And there are times when I can still feel you there.  My heart hurts to hold you once again.  I hope you can still feel how much I love you. If I could be half the person you were I would be a great person.  I love my perfect grandson. I miss you with all I am, and don't know who I should be mad at for you not being here. There is a part of me that wants to beat the shit right out of someone, that wants to start screaming and never stop. But I do know that is not the way you ever were.  You never really got mad at anyone.  You made the best out of everyday you were with us.  You were and still are my hero. Close

Thinking of you!  / Mommy
As I listen to Eric & Kathy do the 36 hour at Children's today, I can't help but cry everytime I hear a story. Some are way to familiar and some bring back many memories of you in the hospital. I know you do not miss having to spend half of your life there, but it was our 2nd home and you made the best of it everytime we were there. Whether you were in the ICU or getting chemo, you always wanted to get up and go to the playroom, play spiderman with daddy or sing to every person who walked in the room. What I really miss is your determination - you were stubborn just like me. If you wanted something, boy you made sure you got. Your sister is becoming just like you! What a great trait to have. If you did not want a doctor to check you out, you made sure they didn't and I used to just sit back with a smile, thinking that's my boy!!!

It will only get harder in the years to come because I think - what would you be like when you get older, would you get married, have children and I don't get to see you grow into a man.

I love you very much and miss you like crazy!!

I remember when you would help me clean up, we would sing " Clean up , clean up, everybody clean up" you would have your chocolate milk in one hand and toss the toys into the bin with the other. I can picture you now helping me! We have seen two pre-views of movies you would love to watch -  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Spiderman 3!!! We miss you so much, your sister has lost her best friend and brother, Daddy has lost his best buddy, jacket brothers & son and I have lost my best dancing partner, helper & son! WE LOVE YOU SO SO MUCH!!!!!! Hugs & Kisses my angel Close

  It has been very hard for me to leave a message. Even now it is hard for me to write down how i feel about you because I miss you so much. I was very close to you even though we didnt see each other all the time. I will always remember you. Even at my graduation party, I remembered how happy you were at my 8th grade graduation party and all the fun we had.  On the 4th of  July it was very hard for me to be happy. But then I remembered all the fun times we had and I know now you are having a great time. Every one here is missing you so much and we talk about you all the time. Your Aunt Rose has pictures of you all over the frig and when ever people come over and ask her who you are, she says you are a one of a kind special kid because you are and always will be our special little guy.
 Everyday I think of you, even at work when I am stocking spiderman toys.  Thank you for all the great times and I know you are in heaven having a blast playing baseball like we used to have during your parties. 
 Everywhere i go, whatever i do, my favorite 2nd cousin will always be right by my side.

my baby  / Grandma Val
the day you were born grandpa and I were there and grandma pat and grandpa tony were there, no one was telling us anything, and grandma pat  said somethings wrong because a good push and  she should have had the baby,
I waited a minute and called the nurse upset that something might be wrong, but it wasn't long and there you were.  val and eddie came to see your mom at the hospital, but they had to sit in a room outside the nursery. I wanted to show my grandson to them so I took you to the room ( grandpa said I wouldn't do that and stayed in the room) I didn't know they had something on your foot  and ryan and I locked the whole hospital down. they locked all the doors and stop the elevator down, we did't get into trouble, we went back to the room and grandpa was reading the paper never looked up or anything and said " was that you?"
I told him to just shut-up. we always had fun together from the start. I miss my baby so much,  have fun with grandma lill till we are together again. Close

Birds / Mommy

Birds come by our house all the time now. They come into the garage, they sit in your garden & even on daddy's bike. I think I should add a bird feeder in your garden for them. Thanks for all the signs kiddo! I love you so much! Hope you are making cookies with your great grandma Lillian and I am sure Great Grandma Rompala is giving you all the candy bars she kept in the Fridge. I know you are happy being with her cuz you would always get sad and cry when you thought about her not being here with you. You always said you miss your Great Grandma Rompala so much! When Ryan & his family moved into their house they invited all of us girls(B.S.) over. Mary showed us the new house and all Ryan wanted to show us was his backyard. He had a playhouse already in his yard and he was all over it! He was so excited to have it and really enjoyed playing on it. I remember how happy and excited he was and it was a great moment .We are all truly lucky to have had him in our  lives.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN!!   We love and miss you! the day you were born  / Grandma And Grandpa Lamantia (Grandparents)
Grandpa and I kept waiting for the phone call to let us know that you had
been born.  Finally we couldn't stand it anymore and drove to the
hospital. Everyone was there just waiting for you.When the nurse did come
to get us, the first thing she said was what a beautiful baby you were.
Boy was she right!  When we walked into the room Daddy said he wanted
to introduce us to Ryan Anthony Lamantia.  He was so proud.  We all took
turns holding you and having our pictures taken with you.  No one wanted
to go home, we just wanted to look at you.  You were our first grandchild
and it was  just amazing to see the next generation.
When we did get home, there were tons of phone calls to make to let
everyone know the good news. It's a day we will always remember. Close

Seven years ago today!  / Mommy

I will always remember every single minute of your birth. It took you 30 hours to come out, but it was well worth the pain. You brought so much joy & happiness into our lives. You learned things so fast - you were crawling at 6 months, walking at 9 months, talking in sentences at 1 year. You had so much love to give, you shared it with everyone who came in contact with you! I am so sorry for the pain you had to endure. During the last 3 years of your life, you showed so much strength & courage to try and beat that beast inside of you. What you do not know is how many people you have taught about life. It is so precious & can not be taken for granted. You are my hero!!!!!!!!!! 

I have many special memories of you -  you and your sister hugging and kissing all the time, you sticking up for your sister, playing spiderman with everyone at the hospital, repeating your favorite saying to almost everyone who passed by " I hate your sticking guts, you make me vomit, your the scum between my toes, Love Alfalfa. Riding your motorcycle so fast, daddy & I couldn't catch up with you and you couldn't hear us yelling, pretending to drink beer and asking Grandpa Pat if you have a big belly like him now, Telling the bird to SHUT UP! Going to Disneyworld & having breakfast with Spiderman, Swimming & so many more!But my favorite is having you yell & scream for me when I came home from work and you would run up to me and give me a big hug & kiss!!!!  

Ryan I love you so much! You are a very special person and I am so happy to have you as my son! You will NEVER be forgotten! I await the day we see each other again. We are releasing balloons for you today, I hope you can catch one!

July 4th 1999  / Daddy
July 4th 1999 was one of the most special days of my life because my son was brought into this world. I remember watching fireworks from the hospital room that night and it was a perfect way to celebrate Ryans birth.  I have so many memories of Ryan that always put a smile on my face. Memories like him climbing on the fish tank, taking the peanut butter and covering his entire body with it, and even Mary and I having to tie our dinning room chairs with belts so that he couldn't pull out the chairs and climb on the table. I remember people always looking at him and smilling because he was so cute. At a party he was the littlest child but he was the best at hitting the pinata. Everybody was cheering for him. I remeber how good he was at baseball and how much he loved it. I remember taking him to see Shrek 2 and he would just laugh so hard at the donkey. He had such a great laugh.
Ryan and I were very close. We would always say we were a great team. We spent a lot of time together and I miss not seeing him. Ryan was a very special child and I am honored to be his father. When he got sick I was able to stay home with him and help take care of him. I loved being able to spend every minute with him because I love him so much.
I want to wish my best friend and son a happy 7th b-day . I wish you were here to celebrate it. Just remember we will be able to hold hands, and give hugs again one day.  I love you and miss you .

p.s I hope you can see the balloons we are going to be sending up to you.

I stopped by ryan's house on my way to work, and ryan said grandma I don;t want you to go to work and I said that if I did't go to work I couldn;t buy him any toys, and ryan said I don;t want toys I want you,  And I said I had to go to work and he said then buy me a toy. If I had it to do over again I would never have left ryan for an moment, and would buy him any he ever wanted. I miss and love this child with all my heart. Close
